Unions Validate Wednesday Weirdness Violence Theory

http://www.newsvine.com/_news/2011/09/08/7670344-longshoremen-storm-wash-port-over-labor-dispute?pc=25&sp=25#discussion_nav

Let me begin by thanking the ILWU for their promptness in providing validation that the theory of planned violence is not without merit.

Hundreds of Longshore workers stormed the Port of Longview early Thursday, overpowered and held security guards, damaged railroad cars, and dumped grain that is the center of a labor dispute, said Longview Police Chief Jim Duscha.

Now is that old school or what? Two days after Hoffa rants and Obama praises him, and this is what we get. I really appreciate the grain dumping part. This could grow into an analogy of the "Tea Party" for the Democrats, they can now form a sub-group called the "Grain Party".

Six guards were detained for a couple of hours after 500 or more Longshoremen broke down gates about 4:30 a.m. and smashed windows in the guard shack, he said.

The blockade appeared to defy a federal restraining order issued last week against the union after it was accused of assaults and death threats.

Let's see, kidnapping, assault, forcible entry, felonious destruction of property. Violation of a Federal restraining order.

No one was hurt, and nobody has been arrested.

Mr. Holder, could we get your attention please. Just for a moment. Por Favor.

One sergeant was threatened with baseball bats and retreated, Duscha said. "One officer with hundreds of Longshoremen? He used the better part of discretion."

Smart cop. Screw the law and intimidate those who represent it. That's the union way.

One thing the article didn't touch on, but I would like to know. The people leading these demonstrators, are all of them workers at EGT? Or have advisors been sent from the union itself to aid these people in their endeavors. Is there more to come?

Meanwhile, the international union is investigating reports of a wildcat strike at the ports of Seattle and Tacoma.

"It appears the members have taken action on their own," said ILWU spokesman Craig Merrilees

Looks like it. I am not looking for any apologies from those who referred to me as being a bit of an imbecile yesterday. It would be nice if a couple of those detractors admitted that they should at least be a little more open minded.

A bit of advice to Mr. Hoffa. Your army may not be as big as you think it is. A lot of today's younger union members joined because that is the only way they could get a job. Young people have a natural dis-inclination for the old ways, doesn't matter if you are talking politics or religion. You just might have to start paying some of those military style security outfits to join your union.

"A lot of the protesters were telling us this in only the start."

At least they were prompt...sigh.

"If you won't do it my way, I'll wreck your stuff."

Normally when folks behave like that, don't they get sent to the bedroom without dessert with a reminder to work on their homework?

No it didn't. Nor did it take long enough to suit me. There are those times when I wish that I were a complete idiot. Living in one of those times now.

Think anyone will own up to being a bit hasty in nay-saying us yesterday?

Great endorsement to make companies want to come to the united states and/or current companies expand/grow and not ship more jobs overseas, wouldn't ya say? sarc

Good seed.

Maybe this was a joint operation between big business and the unions for just that purpose. Big business wants cheap labor and the unions are pushing overseas expansion.

Quick, get your tin hats on. We all know that it would be a cold day in hell before that happened? Don't we? LMAO

Sure blows all that union solidarity to bits, doesn't it? Along with "we are for the middle class, the working man.

I wonder how twisted the unions can get on this one. Those security guards were just a couple of middle class working guys themselves, could even belong to a union themselves. Wonder hat one union thinks about another union kidnapping there guys and not letting them do their union job?

That's it, problem solved, all we have to do is get the unions to start fighting with each other, allow the violence and they can work off the need for said violence by eliminating each other. Hoffa wants the old ways, he can have them, organized crime style.

I don't get this whole baseball bat business. Seems to me hockey sticks are longer and have some nasty edges. Or is that too much of a Canadian thing?

Well that depends. Thing is baseball bats are more sturdy, whereas hockey sticks are designed to flex. You would probably break the hockey stick on the first couple of guys you savagely beat, but the bat could just be used over and over, especially if it's an aluminum bat.

My dear Baron. With such detailed knowledge one could wonder if you have some practical experience in these matters. Sure hope you are a good guy. Am I right in assuming that a wiffle bat just isn't going to cut it?

lol, actually I play hockey and I played baseball back when I was in high school. I don't use them for beating people, except when I'm on the ice and the ref isn't looking.

Just about time for the President's speech. Unlike some I have no intention of boycotting it, So it's off to the kitchen for a glass of milk, a pb&j sandwich and some more aluminum foil. My hat has a couple of holes in it and they line up with the ones in my head. Makes it a bit drafty.

The people leading these demonstrators, are all of them workers at EGT?

None of the "demonstrators work for EGT. The company has a contract and hired workers from the Operating Engineers union. The "demonstrators are from the Longshoremens union.

Sorry arkpdx, I just re-read your comment. Strangely my reply should have been "our" union labor or no union labor. No sarcasm, just confusion.

It's like "You Knew" Owl.

Your scarying me!!!

Hoffa only meant "Vote" in his militant stance the other day Mr. Union Members. It was just innocent "Violant" rhetoric. :)

Such Lemmings these union Members are. Hoffa plays the flute and they jump off the cliff. This should make them look sooo much better in our Private Sector eyes.
